7. By listing yourself on eBay
You can buy pretty much anything on eBay these days, and apparently that even includes young, hardworking employees.
Josh Butler, an 18-year-old from the UK, was getting increasingly frustrated after sending out 600 resumes and not even being invited for a single interview.
He’d recently finished his A-Levels, with good results, but financial reasons prevented him from going to university. He was trying to find himself a role with a good chance of future progression, but everyone he applied to was only hiring university graduates.
So, he listed himself on eBay, with a starting bid of £16,000. Along with a healthy dose of bogus bids, Butler got a chance to interview with top retailer John Lewis, and some local call centers, too.
