6. Do not drive in the storm
A car is one of the worst places you can be in a storm—apart from outside in the actual storm. Hurricane Harvey has brought down trees, buildings, telephone lines, and many more things that could seriously injure you if they hit your car while you’re in it. Additionally, wet and even flooded roads make it far too easily to swerve and cause an accident. You also run the risk of heavy flood waters taking over your vehicle.
