His ability to serve as Chief Mourner
President Obama had to deal with some pretty large-scale tragedies during his time in office. From the school shooting at Sandy Hook to the massacre at Pulse Nightclub, he has shown that not only is his role to shape policy, but the President should also serve as an outlet for the nation’s sorrow.
It’s hard to forget his tears when he was talking about the murder of children at Sandy Hook. It takes a strong man to cry in public, but when the President does it, he shows us that it’s OK to grieve.
