Rodney Fox 1963
Australian spearfisher, Rodney Fox, was wrangling with a great white shark when the shark grabbed him by his torso. He fought back and the shark released its grip. However, the shark came back with vengeance and dragged Fox along the ocean floor before finally realeasing him. He suffered a punctured diaphragm, pierced scapula and ripped lung. His ribcage and upper stomach were exposed, and rescuers, after pulling him from the water, had to keep his wetsuit on to prevent his organs from spilling out. It took four hours of extensive surgery and 450 stitches, but he survived and is now seen as a miracle survivor.
